At our house - and I'm sure at yours - Thanksgiving is a time to pause and reflect on what we're grateful for. As we near the end of our first year in office, Karyn and I are so thankful for the opportunity to serve the people of Massachusetts. For the past few years, we've had the privilege of traveling our remarkable state. It's only reinforced our deeply-held belief that we have incredibly hard-working and creative people - and that they deserve a state government that has those same qualities.
Closer to home, nothing compares to how grateful I am to have such a wonderful family to share my life with. And I know that many of you feel the same way. Strong families build strong communities, and strong communities are the foundation of what makes Massachusetts truly great.
As you enjoy this holiday with family and friends, I hope you'll also re-commit to being active and involved in the city or town you call home. When more folks are engaged in charities, civic organizations, youth sports, and even local elected government - our state becomes a better place. I hope you'll join that effort with all of us.
May your family have a safe, happy, and healthy Thanksgiving - with a wonderful holiday season ahead.
Governor Charlie Baker
